Dear friends,
dear guests
after 31
years of our conduction and 91
years of family business the
Hotel Du Lac will close by the
end of this year and begin a new
activity.
It wasn’t an
easy decision make since many
emotions, passion and hard work
have been put in the Hotel
during three generations.
We are near
to retirement and a decision was
quite appropriate.
After being a
silk factory (1800), later a
small guesthouse (1890) the
building became a little and
simple hotel in 1920, when our
grandparents started the family
business. Later our parents
started a new era with a larger
and well equipped 4-star hotel
(1964); the old building was
destroyed and a new one rebuilt.
We took over the business in
1981 and refurbished ever since.
Now the Butterfly will face a
metamorphosis and a new
retirement residence will take
the place of the hotel,
including a new building in the
parking area..
It will take
three to four years to get the
construction finished and
re-open the activity.
We would like
to thank you so much for the
support and trust you have shown
our family and our hotel over
the last three decades and hope
to see you in a couple of years
on the terrace for a drink.
We look
forward to starting this
challenge and in the meantime we
wish you a Merry Christmas, a
very happy New Year, good health
and serenity.
